  1. Scanning speeds may vary due to the system environment used. Scanning speed means the time from "Start feeding document" to "Finish output document" after pre-pick and pushing Scan button. In case of 'From pushing Scan button', Warm-up time is added. *Warm-up time Less than 2 seconds from ready status (Less than 3 seconds after opening chute cover).
  2. Documents measuring approximately 148 mm in length or less are scanned in 'Best Mode', while other documents are scanned in 'Better Mode'.
  3. The S1100i is capable of scanning documents that exceed A4 size in length. This function is available for all modes except 'Excellent mode'.
  4. Computer with USB 3.0 will work as USB 2.0 guaranteed only with USB cable provided with product.

1.3 Carry-in repair service Carry-in service is a service program in which a defective Product must be returned to FAPL’ s Service Center for repair. Service will be provided during Maintenance Hours. Carry-in service includes the provision of spare parts, labor and one-way courier charge for the return of the repaired Product. Obtaining Service a. In the event of a hardware failure, Purchaser must call in FAPL’s Technical Assistance Center (TAC). TAC will assist the Purchaser in resolving the problem over the telephone. b. Purchaser must provide TAC with the product model number, part number, serial number and a description of the problem. c. Purchaser may be asked to run some simple, self-diagnostic tests and report the resulting status and error code messages. This will assist TAC in determining if the problem is the Product or another component of the Purchaser’s system and if the problem can be resolved over the telephone. d. After TAC verifies a hardware problem over telephone assistance, a Carry-in service will be initiated and TAC will provide instructions for Purchaser to send the defective Product to FAPL’s Service Center for repair. e. Before the defective Product is sent to FAPL, Purchaser must ensure that all options and accessories (which include power cord, documentation, CD/DVD, etc.) are removed. FAPL does not accept responsibility for these items and they will not be returned with the repaired Product. The Product should be returned to FAPL in its original packaging and all risks and expenses in relation to the defective Product shall be borne by the Purchaser. Upon successful repair, FAPL will deliver the Product to the Purchaser during the Maintenance Hours. 1.4 Preventive Maintenance Where expressly indicated in the ScanShield Certificate, FAPL shall perform preventive maintenance at the Site. Preventive maintenance shall be provided at such frequency as set out in the ScanShield Certificate as FAPL in its sole and absolute discretion considers necessary to ensure the Product remains in good working order. Preventive maintenance will be provided during Maintenance Hours at a time to be mutually agreed upon between FAPL and Purchaser within 2 weeks of initiation. Preventive maintenance includes: • Thoroughly cleaning the paper feeding path of the Product • Checking the consumables status to advise the Purchaser whether or not it is due time to change the consumables • Updating the Purchaser on the condition of the Product Preventive maintenance excludes: • Maintenance Training • Consumables • Cleaning materials • Troubleshooting of software configuration, applications or set up 2 ENGINEERING CHANGES AND ENHANCEMENTS FAPL may with the approval of Purchaser, from time to time make engineering improvements or install in the Product such engineering changes and enhancements which it deems necessary to incorporate in the Product. FAPL may also determine from time to time that certain safety changes are required for installation in the Product and FAPL shall have the right upon obtaining the Purchaser’s approval thereof, to install such safety changes and to select the method of installation of such changes. The Purchaser shall pay an additional charge (if any cost or charge is imposed by the manufacturer for the provision of the same) for the installation of such safety changes, engineering charges or enhancements. 3 SCANSHIELD EXCLUSIONS FAPL does not provide warranty or maintenance support for any Product that exhibits physical damage and/or that falls under any of the following exclusions: a. Defects caused by the operation outside the usage parameters stated in the User's Manual. b. Product damage arising from system integration. c. Malfunctions caused by misuse or abuse, by improper installation, operation or maintenance, by improper connections or peripherals, by use of non-Fujitsu spare parts, by service modifications or repairs performed by a person not authorized by FAPL or by other conditions not arising from defects in product materials or workmanship. d. Malfunction or failure caused by accidental or intentional damage, or Product damage caused by any circumstances beyond FAPL's reasonable control. e. Defects resulting from normal wear and tear. f. All consumables supplied with the Products. g. Any transfer or assignment of ownership in the Product to any third party. The Warranty is provided only to the Purchaser as the original purchaser. h. Relocation of the Product outside Singapore i. Product damage or malfunctions caused by transportation of the Product. j. Purchaser shall notify FAPL in writing should any Product be relocated to a different site or location within 15 days from the date of such re-location. In the event that the Purchaser fails to notify FAPL as required, FAPL shall not be obliged to provide the ScanShield coverage to the re-located Products. k. Non-Fujitsu parts, associated Product and third party peripherals, memory expansion cards, PC cards or accessories. l. Product that has been defaced (such as label alterations, serial number missing, serial number no longer discernible, serial number invalid). m. Product with warranty labels removed or destroyed. n. Product damage due to lack of electrostatic discharge protection. o. Product purchased outside the sales territories of FAPL.
